From the moment I first laid eyes on the breathtaking Chicago skyline from Indiana Dunes State Park, I knew capturing its essence would be a challenge and a dream. "Chicago's Morning Blues" has been a long-awaited pursuit of mine, a bucket list shot that required patience, dedication, and a bit of luck.
The atmospheric and weather conditions need to be just right to even see the skyline across from Lake Michigan, so I was excited when I showed up that morning and could see the city at all.
The muted morning light cast a soft glow over the city, complemented by the mesmerizing long exposure of Lake Michigan. The misty shadows of the silhouetted buildings added an ethereal touch, creating a scene that felt almost otherworldly. It's a harmonious blend of natural and man-made beauty, frozen in time.
As a photographer, I find immense satisfaction in the unique outcome of "Chicago's Morning Blues." The pastel-like colors merging seamlessly create an impressionist painting-like effect, offering viewers a glimpse of the beauty that unfolded before my lens.
